About Us
Dr. John Stancil has been a CPA since 1979 in the states of Kentucky and Florida. He is a graduate of Mars Hill College, the University of Georgia, and the University of Memphis - holding a DBA in Accounting. He has been a full-time professor of accounting for over 30 years, teaching graduate and undergraduate classes.
He has maintained an active CPA practice during that time, specializing in taxes, tax planning, and consulting. In addition to the CPA certification, John is also a CMA, CFM, and CIA. He is a leading expert in tax matters on allexperts.com and writes a monthly tax column for the Polk County Business Journal. He has written several academic papers in the area of taxation, and often serves as a speaker to professional and civic groups on various taxation topics. John is a member of the American Institute of CPA's, the National Association of Tax Professionals, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the SouthEast Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
John's civic involvement extends to service on the boards of several not-for profit organizaitons. Currently, he is treasurer of His Nets, Inc., is an advisor to PowerPoint Ministries, Inc. and Faith in Action of Central Lakeland, and serves as chair of the Finance Team at Legacy Christian Church.
In addition to servicing clients in Alabama, Arizona, California, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia John has served as consultant to local tax preparation and CPA firms.
